Meet Me at Midnight by Jessica Pennington (ARC Review)

45043589

They have a love-hate relationship with summer.

Sidney and Asher should have clicked. Two star swimmers forced to spend their summers on a lake together sounds like the perfect match. But it’s the same every year—in between cookouts and boat rides and family-imposed bonfires, Sidney and Asher spend the dog days of summer finding the ultimate ways to prank each other. And now, after their senior year, they’re determined to make it the most epic summer yet.

But their plans are thrown in sudden jeopardy when their feud causes their families to be kicked out of their beloved lake houses. Once in their new accommodations, Sidney expects the prank war to continue as usual. But then she gets a note—Meet me at midnight. And Asher has a proposition for her: join forces for one last summer of epic pranks, against a shared enemy—the woman who kicked them out.

Their truce should make things simpler, but six years of tormenting one another isn’t so easy to ignore. Kind of like the undeniable attraction growing between them. (taken from goodreads.com)

*Before jumping into my review, I want to thank Jessica for sending me a physical ARC! All views and opinions are my own.*

If you’ve been following me for a bit, you may know that I love summer more than anything. And I also love young adult romance novels. This book is a summer young adult romance novel and I LOVED IT SO MUCH.

Asher and Sidney have been connected to each other their whole lives but only within the past few years have become something. They aren’t friends, their enemies but there’s this underlying layer of something.

The relationship between Asher and Sidney develops throughout this novel and I loved being able to watch it unfold. They play such amazing pranks on each other, this book had me laughing and smiling the whole time.

As someone who is anxious by nature, I connected to Sidney is many ways. I understood her need to know how things were going to end up, her need to have everything organized and not wanting to get too excited about things.

Asher is soft and Sidney is more rough around the edges, they balance each other out in an amazing way. They force each other to grow and they are amazing.

The cute things that they do together, the way they truly grow together its just so cute!!

I love that the story follows them throughout the summer and into their freshman year of college. I’m always looking for more YA books that have characters in college and this was SO GOOD. I loved this so much.

I loved this book. I love Jessica’s books and Jessica is a fantastic human being.

If you’re looking for a fun novel to get you in the summer spirit, I HIGHLY recommend you check this one out! Its out already!
