Is America ready for its first queen?
Power is intoxicating. Like first love, it can leave you breathless. Princess Beatrice was born with it. Princess Samantha was born with less. Some, like Nina Gonzalez, are pulled into it. And a few will claw their way in. Ahem, we’re looking at you Daphne Deighton.
As America adjusts to the idea of a queen on the throne, Beatrice grapples with everything she lost when she gained the ultimate crown. Samantha is busy living up to her “party princess” persona…and maybe adding a party prince by her side. Nina is trying to avoid the palace–and Prince Jefferson–at all costs. And a dangerous secret threatens to undo all of Daphne’s carefully laid “marry Prince Jefferson” plans.
A new reign has begun…. (taken from goodreads.com)
America is getting ready for a new reign. American isn’t ready for what is coming at them. The Washington siblings are a forced to be reckoned with, and their friends that come with them are in on all the shenanigans.
I am in love with this series. It reminds me of Gossip Girl and The Clique while throwing in some of The Princess Diaries. There is the drama, gossip, money and royalty of all of these series combined.
America is getting ready for coronation of Beatrice as queen, the first queen of the country. They are also paying attention to Sam and Jeff, who don’t really care about what they do. And then there is Nina, best friend of the princess and Daphne, Jeff’s ex-girlfriend who wants nothing more than to be royal.
I loved this book! I loved getting to know Beatrice so much better than we did in the first book. We get to learn about the different ways that Beatrice and her younger siblings were treated when they were kids. I found that there was a lot of conflict resolution from the past book.
I feel bad for Daphne, she is so desperate to be someone and I love that we see her getting knocked down a bit and being exposed for who she really is.
I love that we get more of a story line with Nina, getting to know her better and getting to see her happy.
I love this series so much and while this book does wrap everything up really nicely, I can see that there are still some holes here and there and I’m hoping that means we will get more!!
