College freshman Liv is more than just a fangirl: The Starveil movies are her life… So, when her favorite character, Captain Matt Spartan, is killed off at the end of the last movie, Liv Just. Can’t. Deal.
Tired of sitting in her room sobbing, Liv decides to launch an online campaign to bring her beloved hero back to life. With the help of her best friend, Xander, actor and steampunk cosplayer extraordinaire, she creates #SpartanSurvived, a campaign to ignite the fandom. But as her online life succeeds beyond her wildest dreams, Liv is forced to balance that with the pressures of school, her mother’s disapproval, and her (mostly nonexistent and entirely traumatic) romantic life. A trip to DragonCon with Xander might be exactly what she needs to figure out what she really wants.
Liv is a die hard Starveil fan, Xander is her best friend who is willing to do anything for her. So when she gets the idea to start a campaign to keep the fandom alive, she doesn’t realize just how out of control its going to get.
This is a book I have had on my shelves for a VERY long time and recently sat down and binge read.
Liv is smart and passionate. She loves what she loves and she doesn’t feel the need to hide It from her friends. Xander loves to cosplay and would do anything for Liv.
I LOVED XANDER SO MUCH! I don’t know what it is about him, but he is by far one of my most favorite characters I have read about in a very long time. He is loving, caring, smart and passionate too.
I loved how this novel took place in college, I have found that college aged YA is something I have really been wanting for a very long time and I haven’t been able to find as many novels like that. And this one was so much fun.
If you’re looking for a fun novel about fandom, friendship and so much more I really recommend this one!
