Felicity has her entire future planned. Ever since her older sister ran away, she’s had the full weight of her mother’s expectations on her shoulders. So she works hard to get straight As and save for college.
Except sometimes the best things in life are unplanned—like when Felicity meets a handsome, masked stranger while she is volunteering at a charity masquerade ball. She never thought he’d flirt with her. And she certainly never thought he’d turn out to be a member of the world-famous Heartbreakers band, Alec.
Then Felicity uncovers a shocking family secret. Suddenly, she, Alec, and her two best friends are off on a road trip to find Felicity’s missing sister. And she’s about to discover that unexpected turns have a peculiar way of landing her right where she needs to be…
I was extremely excited to read this book. I had loved the first book, “The Heartbreakers” and couldn’t wait to jump back into that world. But unfortunately, this one wasn’t anywhere as good as the first one.
Felicity has had her whole life planned out since her sister ran away a few years ago. Alec is a world famous pop star, who wants nothing more than to escape his fathers shadow. When the two meet, their summer is turned on it’s head.
While this series is a Wattpad published series, I really enjoyed the first one. It didn’t read like a Wattpad story, which means that there wasn’t as many filler chapters in it the way there is in a regular Wattpad story. This one felt much more like a Wattpad book. The beginning was very busy and fast paced, it was amazing. And then it started to slow down, feeling like I was reading a bunch of filler chapters. And then towards the end, it picked up again and was fast and great.
I liked Alec but not nearly as much as I liked Oliver. I found myself getting frustrated at the characters. I found myself waiting for the moment where Oliver and the rest of the band members were going to be in the book and once they were, I liked the book a lot more. I think Alec could have been more developed than he was.
Felicity was fun, but again I found her to be less developed than Stella was. I loved Stella and her brother more than anything.
I’m excited for the next book and I really hope its about JJ. I think he’s going to be so much fun to read about, he had this fun and loud personality.
Overall, I give this book three stars. I don’t really recommend picking this up as a stand alone, but if you have read “The Heartbreakers” and want to follow on with the series, then read it. Because I know the next one will probably reference things that happened in this one.
